In our continual effort
to promote and practice environmentally responsible printing,
Canfield & Tack has earned Forest Stewardship Council
(FSC) Chain
of Custody certification.
The Forest Stewardship Council is an international non-profit
organization devoted to encouraging the responsible use of
the world’s forests. FSC certified materials are produced
in a closed-loop controlled system. Each part of the manufacturing
process is certified by independent agencies that guarantee
that the use of paper manufactured from timber is grown, managed
and produced under the most rigid environmental, social and
economic protocols. The intent of the FSC system is to shift
the market to eliminate habitat destruction, water pollution,
displacement of indigenous people and violence against people
and wildlife that sometimes accompany logging.
Environmental organizations such as Greenpeace, National Wildlife
Federation, The Nature Conservancy, Sierra Club, and the World
Wildlife Fund all support and encourage FSC certification.
Customers that choose to specify printing projects with the
FSC papers can do so knowing that they are doing their part
to protect and preserve the environment.
